switch-foot book
We are pleased to be working on the switch-foot book, for a re-hashed edition of version one, to be printed in a Soft cover. There has been ample support for us to do a second book, with beautiful contributions coming from all sorts of talented artists, photographers, story tellers, poets, and perhaps some surfer folk too. We will keep you posted on the news.
Sketch Holiday in Australia - - - Harry Daily - - - Art Show Noosa Heads
Harry Daily --- 'Sketch Holiday' is in Australia, and we are planning an art show on the weekend of the 19th April, in Noosa Heads at the well decked out Solace Surf shop on the maindrag of Noosaville. We have a HUGE space to go crazy with. Please email us for an invitation with exact details. Word on the street is that there will be a young Beau there too, playing us some music...but not before the dynamic duo, of Sol Carroll and Oj Newcomb from the Band Of Frequencies keep the room acousticly sonic. After party at a beach house with crazy Sunshine coast cats getting all dressed up in 80's lycra...not for the faint hearted/ Harry is a San Diego native, successful artist, and friend to many in the surfing bubble. Harry travels the World with his art and more recently has been at the Happening in Sydney, been to a few Jack Johnson and Matt Costa gigs and is putting a solo show on before he heads home. Harry painted the artwork to the cover of the switch-foot book, has done numerous album cover projects, affected the stylings of many a surf brand, and is also featured in Mick Waters new film titled 'believe' which you can find at littlehouseproductions.com For more information on harry, including the Sketch Holiday series, well it is mostly on the switch-foot website.
/////////////// Music\\\ Band Of Frequencies * Low Pressure Productions - - -
Music is a big part of the switch-foot thing. We started Low Pressure Productions in 2005, and have been working on soundtracks, albums, tours, festivals and of course, the Band Of Frequencies. Recently the Band Of Frequencies did a killer show at the Noosa Festival Of Surfing, and there are three videos on youtube, shot well by Alan Carroll. Event promoters called it the best gig EVER in Noosa. The Band of Frequencies have a new album being released in conjunction with Ubiquity Records and Cyrus Suttons second film, Under the Sun. If you havent checked out Cyrus's first film, Riding Waves, it is very attractive indeed, coming from the then 20 year old film-maker. The Second film Under the Sun should be released in 2008 and you can find more about it online. The film will be released with a Ubiquity double album with the music of Shawn Lee and Band Of Frequencies.

switchzine
You will see on the website homepage, top left corner, the word ZINE in orange font...if you are keen to share you work, well now could be a good time to swing us an email...with words, poems, images or art. If and when we receive enough content, we will add the zine online to the website, switchzine.com and see if it works. We would love to have a switch-foot magazine that floats around as medicine for the poor souls who have had to injest the latest thrash and crash fantasy that is being pimped around, but we don't have the time, people or funding. BUT, we do have the internet. ALL you would receive in return for the first zine contribution would be a pat on the back and warm fuzzy feelings, link to your email or website address and the potential to be paid for a subsciber base, switchzine #2.
England August 2007
Well, it was a pretty happening lil 3 weeks in Cornwall in 2007, with a movie night at St Merryn Hall, an art show with band and visuals in Falmouth and A legit art exhibition at the beautiful Driftwood gallery in Newquay.
Movie night: showing Greenoughs 'Dolphin Glide' with some other home grown art - based surf films went down a treat at the ST Merryn Hall near Constantine Bay, it was sold out well in advance, and the crowd was fun and stoked. Technical difficulties galore as this Australian hodad tried to wing the projector and PA system, with visual content not compatible with UK dvd players. The panic stations were peaking as the crowd was lined up outside, and we still had no sound. All went well, and the after party was just as magic, with the golden tones of one Neal Halstead and friends taking folk down a blue road with sunshine overhead. Driftwood gallery are major supporters of surf art, and other related art and we happily recommend anyone who is in Newquay to swing by and spend some time wandering around the several themed rooms. Harry Daily was in fine form, and the picture above in the phone booth was where harry got dressed for the show... there was a nice article at the following address/ Life LIke Liquid
several of the musicians from the recording, toured japan with Dave Rastovich and Ash Grunwald playing several gigs to enthused crowds. Musicians such as OJ Newcomb (band of freqs) Sol Carroll (Band of freqs) Chris Lane (Oka) and James Cox (Low Pressure sound system) joined with Dave Rastovich in the well publicised paddle out at Taiji Bay to help raise awareness of the plight in Japan concerning the killing of DOlphins for meat that is toxic with mercury. More information on how to be involved with the awareness of the political atrocity visit the following link.
