Switch-foot books
Well here they are. I heard through the grapevine that the switch-foot book was in a 'sale bin' at a major surf shop....so, me not having any books for over a year, decided to check it out and it was true.
We bought 100 of them all at once just at the time when Harry Daily, the artist who painted the cover to the book, was in Australia.
Harry has embellished each one on page 77 and they are currently available in the switch-foot shop.
This book will not be printed again.
There is a second book, in the pipeline, and it is a whole new adventure. Will be manufactured with the environment in mind, and surfing at the core. Again heavily inspired by the experimental era in design and surfing pre-professionalism...

switch-foot website
You will notice a few changes starting to happen...a new 'shop' being one of them...and a whole new set of content, characters, once the second book is completed.
CUSTOMER SERVICE: switch-foot is no longer a one-man-band, and we plan to have all online oders processed and despatched within 3 business days.
--organic-- TEE shirts
We have been working hard to create a tee shirt that is organic, nice to wear and affordable for everyone that wears clothes!
To start with, our tee shirts were the best ones we could find, for the cheapest price and this was against everything we stood for.
Today, we are very happy to say that we now have some superb tee shirts, 8 designs, 4 girls, 4 boys and they are all manufactured on the best american apparel blanks we could find, and printed in California.
Harry Dailys art features on several designs, and there are two switch-foot ones and one from the film, 'the inner most limits of pure fun' by George Greenough.
We will send an email in a month or so, with a link to have a look at them.
Harry Daily --- ART
Harry was in Australia for almost two months, and I am sure there are some stories floating around. Harry signed a bunch of prints while he was here, and also hand embellished the 100 books, not to mention his art with the tee shirt designs...
This photo: Harry signing some prints, shot on a fisheye lens. There are lots more nice photos and we look forward to sharing them with you.

Harry The Hat
This is another Harry artist we know, who goes into and beyond fantasy. A small selection of his artworks are now viewable here at the following link. 'The Hat' is good friends with Harry Daily, as evidenced by the style.

AfroDizziAct take VITAMIN pill
Afro Dizzi Act are pleased to announce the national distribution of their catalogue through Vitamin Records and mini tour in July with shows at the Brisbane Festival, Coolum, Gold Coast, Byron Bay and Sydney. The shows will also feature Senegal’s Jali Buba Kuyateh, Nepal’s Dheeraj Shrestha, a horn section and the unmistakable fat beats that have made them festival favourites in Australia and East Asia. Jali Buba Kuyateh is of Griot heritage with thousands of years of family lineage as a musician, poet, storyteller and keeper of history and tradition. Afro Dizzi Act will be featuring material from their E.P ‘Welcome Speech’ and L.P ‘Walkin”. The following is a review of the LP Walkin.
'WELL, not quite instrumental, since Senegalese guest vocalist Jali Buba Kuyateh appears on the title track, but trying to classify Afro Dizzi Act – ambient-world-jazz-dub-funk, anyone? – is fiendishly difficult.‘ (Courier Mail review of Walkin album)
Vitamin records have loads of cool music, check it www.vitamin.net.au

----Brett Whitley---
One of Australias finest artists and visionaries.
Anyone into art, should know of Brett Whiteley. We visited his former home and studio recently in Sydney, which is now open to the public and the inspiration was mammoth.

Check out what Surfers For Cetaceans have been doing in Chile, raising awareness about the preservation of ocean creatures, protesting at the IWC meeting and generally trying to put a ban on commercial whaling.

zine---zine----zine
THANKS for the great response to this last time.
I dont even know what a zine is, and if it supposed to only be a small printed magazine type thing that is more quirky than pure stoke, then maybe i should call it something else!
The idea is to have submissions coming from part timers, who paint and take digital photos and have digital websites they want to share...if we get contributions from these sorts, we should be able to create something we can send around, which will benefit all our friends.
SO, if you have a website, email us some images of what you do and some words and we will add it all together...the more nice images the better!
Image requirements: not to be too modern/photoshopped or show any surfers with angry faces. Not to be a promotion of anything or have any commercial appeal. *laughs*
